Fun times. Had to do those on my old CTS. It was all great until we took it all apart only to find the axles weren't the problem.

Bearings or something. We ended replacing one of the wheel hubs and everything attached to it except the axle on one side.

We had to take it all apart to get to the axles anyway, so no big deal. Once it was apart, it was evident what the real issue was. The only really sucky part was the pouring rain that started just as we were ready to put it all back together.

Get ready to do this way more often than you should need to. I try not to turn to full lock because of the ridiculous things it does to the halfshafts.
